靠美洲西岸的紅線為大陸分水嶺。


北美洲的大陆分水岭（Continental Divide）又稱大分水嶺（Great Divide），是一系列將水系流域大致分隔成太平洋出海與大西洋/北冰洋出海的山脊。北起阿拉斯加的威爾斯王子角，往南經過育空地區、卑詩省、蒙大拿州、懷俄明州、科羅拉多州、新墨西哥州以及墨西哥；且實際上一直延伸到南美洲與安地斯山脈相連。
